Solar Cycle 24 and Cycle 10
June 29, 2012
There is an uncanny resemblance between the current solar cycle, 24, and Cycle 10:
I’m going to act like Criswell or Karnac the Magnificent and say that the two peaks of Cycle 24 will happen starting July 2012 and progress through the end of the year, and then there will be a downturn, followed by the second peak, which will be the second half of 2013. The first half of 2013 will be better than the first half of 2012, so this means between July 2012 and the end of 2013, we will have pretty much non stop decent conditions.
2014 will look like 2012 for the most part, and then there will be a really slow decline that lasts a long time – in fact, 7 years before we hit bottom. In some ways, especially compared to the last cycle’s downturn, the downturn of Cycle 24 will seem like a blessing.
If Cycle 25 is anything like Cycle 11, we will again have a stronger Cycle that is a lot more like Cycle 23. The bottom between Cycle 24 and Cycle 25 will not be nearly as bad as between Cycle 23 and 24.
I’ll bet my forecast beats the experts! And if not – I offer no money back warranty or guarantee of any kind.
